Transit Time Index
CONTEXT
How fast can transit take you there? That's one of the most important questions facing any transit system, but there isn't a comprehensive measurement of how long it takes to drive versus take transit.
GOAL
We built a tool that measures the time it takes to drive or take transit between 100 locations, and created a score called the Transit Time Index, which measures how well (or not) transit can compete versus a typical car journey.
STATUS
Results
Overall, the transit time index score measures our progress towards making transit a competitive and viable option for Miamians, and helped inform key decisions around the bus network redesign.
