Imagine a Miami that is not stuck in traffic.
This Miami flows seamlessly because communities freed themselves from traffic together by campaigning for connectivity that prioritizes all methods of mobility, not only cars.
This is what Transit Alliance Miami has been building since 2015.
We began as a small group of neighbors and riders who believe Miami deserves better transit, streets, and sidewalks. Now, we’ve grown into a movement reshaping how Miami advocates for its mobility needs. As we kick off the second edition of our 24-Hour Transit Triathlon, we're thinking about the people who got us here: the neighborhood riders who sparked Transit Alliance over ten years ago, and the donors who keep us going today.
Why Streets for People Matter:
Miami's need for connectivity keeps growing, but our transit infrastructure isn't keeping up. Zoom into the neighborhoods, though, and you'll see small wins happening every day, slowly building the momentum and infrastructure for bigger ones.
Miamians need hope and results. There's no better teacher than experience. Every small project gets people moving and will restore our faith in streets built for people, not cars. Incremental change is always possible. We are working with our community to identify 20 mobility improvements across the county, proving that small wins add up to big ones.
The 2026 Triathlon is built around one central question: “What is it really like to get around your neighborhood, and Miami, without a car?”
The answers will power Streets for People, our push for 20 community-led mobility improvements across the county. The Triathlon is how we find the neighborhood champions, spot the connectivity gaps, and identify where the next wins are waiting.
